Apple is holding an event today, March 21st, where it is expected to reveal its new iPhone, which has been dubbed the iPhone SE. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant has reportedly decided to retain the dimensions of the iPhone 5 (4 inches), for the latest model. Apple is also expected to announce the release of a new version of the iPad, the name of which is rumored to have the word ‘Pro’ in it. Here’s what can be expected at the event:

iPhone:

The iPhone is expected to have similar specifications to its predecessors, according to various sources. Bloomberg has reported that the iPhone SE will have the same processor powering it that the iPhone 6S has – the A9. Also, 9 to 5 Mac says that the new model will retain the curved edges of the iPhone 6S, as well as the 8 megapixel camera.

iPad:

Certain reports (9 to 5 Mac again) suggest that the latest edition of the iPad will not be positioned as ‘iPod Air 2’, like originally conjectured. Rather, analysts seem to be of the opinion that the new iPad will have the word ‘Pro’ in it, maybe just iPad Pro. While the stylus support, upgradeable RAM and 128 GB storage are standard features, everyone is excitedly anticipating the addition of external keyboard support for this new iPad version – a key differentiator, and one that’s likely to position this version as a radically improved one.

Apple Wearables:

While it doesn’t look like a new Apple Watch is coming out now, speculation is rife that new watch bands are in the pipeline. 9 to 5 Mac has said that Apple is probably going to come out with new colors for the Apple Watch bands. Besides, there are reports that suggest that Apple is exploring the possibility of bands made of new material altogether, apart from partnerships with couture houses like Hermes. There could be more - A new iOS version, maybe more talk on encryption and user privacy, considering the case that Apple’s embroiled in with the FBI. Look out for more details, as the event progresses!
